In the homily on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, on Saturday 2 February, at the 23rd World Day for Consecrated Life, Pope Francis said: “Consecrated life is … not about survival, but new life. ‘But… there are only a few of us…’ – it’s about new life. It is a living encounter with the Lord in his people. It is a call to the faithful obedience of daily life and to the unexpected surprises from the Spirit”.
As consecrated persons and communities of consecrated life, how much are we faithfully obedient to the Holy Spirit’s surprises? And how are we letting and encouraging our brothers and sisters being obedient to the Holy Spirit and not killing their spirit?
