Would you like to experience a new way of praying? During this one-day Retreat-Workshop, poetry will be presented as a means of lifting the soul to God. We will explore how praying through poetry has a long history going back to the Book of Psalms, which is a “mirror of the emotions of the soul” (Anthanasius). By looking at the Psalms and at works of renowned poets, we will share ways in which poetry can lead to prayer by exploring the thoughts, feelings and experiences of the Psalmist/poet.
The day will weave together silence, reflection and prayer. Participants are invited to bring along a favourite poem or their own poems to share.
