Experiencing a Finger Labyrinth

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Centre for Ignatian Spirituality (Malta) will be offering a new experience of prayer with a Finger Labyrinth. During this time of pandemic we cannot gather at Mount St Joseph Retreat House for the annual Labyrinth Retreat that was planned for World Labyrinth Day (Saturday 2nd May 2020). We therefore thought of offering an alternative form of the Labyrinth experience, that of “walking” a Finger Labyrinth from our homes.

A Finger Labyrinth is similar to a full-sized labyrinth one would walk, but in this case it is on a much smaller and more portable scale. The person praying with a Finger Labyrinth traces the path to the centre of the labyrinth by using his/her finger rather than with his/her feet.

Those who are interested in this new prayer experience, will receive a text for meditation via email on Saturday 25th April 2020 after they register. The Finger Labyrinth will also be provided with this text so that participants can “walk” with their finger either on screen or on paper if they print it out. This prayerful experience, which can be done any time between the 25th April and the 2nd May 2020 in the comfort of our homes, will lead up to World Labyrinth Day on Saturday 2nd May 2020 when participants can share their experiences of this meditation through a closed group on Facebook.

We invite you to register for this prayer experience by Friday 24th April 2020 by using this link
