Online Retreat: Stop – Reflect – Pray

The first Stop-Reflect-Pray online retreat for this year is entitled: Numbers, Visions and Animals: Praying with the book of Revelation and will be led by Prof. Anthony FrendoThere will be an introduction on how to prepare oneself for prayer and also on what it means to pray with Scripture (lectio divina).  In view of the theme of this session, a brief overall introduction to the book of Revelation will also be offered.  Following this, the first passage for prayer will be introduced, namely Revelation 13: 11-18.  There will follow 20 minutes for personal reflection and prayer followed by 15 minutes of sharing.  This will be followed by an introduction to the second passage for prayer, namely Revelation 2: 12-17 followed by 20 minutes of personal reflection and prayer. In conclusion, the last 20 minutes will be dedicated to sharing and/or queries.
The retreat will be held online as usual on Saturday 3 of September at 3:30 pm. Before our retreat, it will be very helpful if you:

Prepare yourself to meet the Lord.

Decide on a place where you will sit for our retreat; a place where you will not be disturbed to reflect and pray;

Create in your heart a space of availability and hopeful waiting, a space that is fertile ground to receive God’s insight and grace.

Seeking Inspiration

Human beings, while capable of the worst, are also capable of rising above themselves, choosing again what is good, and making a new start, despite their mental and social conditioning. We are able to take an honest look at ourselves, to acknowledge our deep dissatisfaction, and to embark on new paths to authentic freedom… May our struggles and our concern for this planet never take away the joy of our hope.

(Laudato Si’: paragraph 205, 244).

Pope Francis
