In the collect of the Mass of Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent we find the following phrase: “We pray, that no infirmity may weary us as we long for the comforting presence of our heavenly physician” (ut nullis infirmitatibus fatigemur, qui caelestis medici consolantem praesentiam sustinemus). Am I longing for the comforting presence of our heavenly physician, Christ the Lord?
