God, have mercy on me

May the peace of the Lord be with you, and hope you are blessed through His love.

This Months Reflection

God, have mercy on me

Recently, I once again came across the following verse from the Bible, referring to Luke 18:13, ‘but the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

This verse taken from the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, basically reminded me that we are all sinners and how important that we are to return to God. Just like the tax collector in this parable, we are to ask forgiveness to God, to restore us and to have mercy on us.

Through the mercy of God, He gives each sinner compassion, and kindness, and His mercy shows up in the believer’s life at salvation, and then God continues to show mercy in forgiveness.

So each person is to be encouraged, even though being sinners, for the mercy of God reaches everyone, is for all, is there to receive redemption and salvation. So return to God, let go of your sin, and be embraced by God.
