Il-Ħajja f’Għawdex
L-edizzjoni ta’ Frar ta’ Il-Ħajja f’Għawdex timmarka ċ-ċentinarju mit-twaqqif f’Dublin tal-Leġjun ta’ Marija, l-ikbar moviment ta’ lajċi fil-Knisja, b’editorjal iddedikat lil din it-tema u l-ewwel minn serje ta’ artikli fuq is-suġġett. F’Għawdex il-Leġjun daħal fl-1950.
Artikli ta’ natura spiritwali huma ispirati mit-temi tal-Preżentazzjoni tal-Mulej, San Pawl, San Ġużepp u Madre Tereża. L-aħbarijiet minn Għawdex jinkludu l-bini mill-ġdid tal-Kumpless Sportiv, l-effetti tajbin fuq is-saħħa ta’ min jgħix ħdejn il-baħar, rapport ġenerali tat-temp fil-gżira tul l-2020, u l-imwiet mix-Xagħra fi żmien it-Tieni Gwerra Dinjija. Żewġ artikli jfakkru lill-ġurista J.J. Cremona u lill-iScout Leader u Chief Commissioner Joseph Grech. Ir-rivista tirrapporta wkoll dwar konferenza fuq l-intraprenditorjalità taż-żgħażagħ Għawdxin, kif ukoll mistoqsijiet parlamenti minn u dwar Għawdex.
Il-Ħajja f’Għawdex, February 2021, No 1025
The February edition of Il-Ħajja f’Għawdex marks the centenary of the foundation in Dublin of the Legion of Mary, the largest lay society in the Church, with a dedicated editorial and the first in a series of articles. Its Gozo section was first established in 1950. Matters of faith and spirituality also feature in articles on or inspired by the Presentation of Our Lord, St Paul, St Joseph and Mother Teresa. Among the ‘secular’ news, we hear about the rebuilding of the Gozo Sports Complex, the salutary effect of living close to the sea, a general weather report of the island for 2020, and World War II casualties from Xagħra. Two articles commemorate respectively the jurist J.J. Cremona and the former Scout leader and Chief Commissioner Joseph Grech. The periodical also reports on a conference on entrepreneurship targeting young people, and records recent parliamentary questions related specifically to Gozo.
